Celebrating June!! (And no more snow)

Happy June to you!

At last--the snow is gone!

For those of you who had snow on Mother's Day, walk outside and take a deep breath of sweet June. The rest of us have been waiting for you to arrive and glad you are here.

Yes, I chose a picture of crocuses mainly because so many of us had a longer winter than expected.

I hope you can take a break and go outside today.

When I walk anywhere in nature there isn't much I don't like to see. I am intrigued with spider webs, mice scurrying, snakes, geese honking when they fly (why do they do that?), the scent of flowers, butterflies flittering, beaver dams, owls, lichen, moss, and so much more.

God has made beautiful creatures and plants.

While you take your walk today, use the time to contemplate all God has done for you. Here is a start:

Psalm 8
Lord, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth,
Who have set Your glory above the heavens!
Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have ordained strength,
Because of Your enemies,
That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.
When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?

For You have made him a little lower than the angels,[b]
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
 You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
 All sheep and oxen—
Even the beasts of the field,
 The birds of the air,
And the fish of the sea
That pass through the paths of the seas.
 Lord, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth!

This post has been brought to you by the one-word: Contemplation

Your Turn: Take a small pad of paper and a pen with you when you go for your walk. Write down all the things that pop in your mind as you think about God. Tonight before you go to bed, read your thoughts.

Feel free to repeat as often as you like:) did it go?
