A Dose of Tranquility

summertime in Michigan woods
Photo by Mary Vee

After reading Anne's post from yesterday, (scroll down to read if you missed it), a word came to mind: Tranquility.

To keep the heating costs down in our house, we've kept the thermostat around 60 degrees. I wear layers, thick socks, fluffy slippers, and drink loads of HOT tea. When I am especially cold I run a mile on the treadmill to warm up.

I thought maybe some of you might be cold or at least tired of the snow. Yes, we all know the benefits of snow, still is cold.

So, today we will think warm thoughts.

Ones of tranquility.

(just a moment, I'm warming my hands on my teacup)

From Psalm 23:

The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.

He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord

There, now. Don't you feel better?

Your turn. Close your eyes for a moment. What place or moment do you imagine when you think of tranquility?

This post have been brought to you by the one word: Tranquility

Tranquility is when I listen to my kitten purring

Oh, yes. Listening to any of our pets (when they're not upset) is such a soothing sound.
