God Nudged Me Upward
My writer’s journey has been a little like climbing a tall pine tree,
hoisting myself up branch by branch. Sometimes my legs would shake and my
spirit would grow faint with all the climbing and striving to learn the craft
and to finally find a way to that pretty tree house called publication.
Many times through the years I wanted to just stop the ascent, get off
the tree, and go do something else. And yet each time I slipped down a few
branches, I felt God nudging me upward again and again, helping me to gain a better
foothold in spite of all the prickly obstacles.
Yes, plainly speaking, I
experienced a lot of rejection before I got published. And even though I have
thirty-seven books out in various genres, I still experience rejection.
Am I glad I chose this profession, this climb? Yes. I wouldn’t
want any other view, any other life but the writer’s life.
Best-selling and award-winning
author, Anita Higman, has thirty-six books published. She’s been a Barnes &
Noble “Author of the Month” for Houston and has a BA in the combined fields of speech

Without looking back, Lily-with her fear of
flying-boards a jumbo jet
and embarks on a quest to find her sister which
leads half way around the world
to Melbourne, Australia. Befriended by
imprudent Ausie, he might prove to be the
key to finding her sister. But
her journey becomes a circle that leads her back
home
to attempt a family reunion and to find the one dream she no longer imagined
possible-the
chance to fall in love again.
