Tax Day

Are you ready?

Have you sent in your forms?

This year, for the first time, we needed help. Mainly because we moved and worked in two different states.

While we may or may not agree with the politics of our country, we feel it is important to pay our taxes and to do them correctly.

And since Jesus paid His taxes . . . .

I hope you will receive a nice refund and can do something wonderful with it.

Let's dream about that wonderful return. What would you like to do? I mean it's not like winning a prize, this was your earnings that didn't need to go for taxes.

One year we received something like $35. I was ecstatic we didn't have to pay more. We used the money to go out for dinner.

My husband and I are planning a special anniversary celebration. It will take awhile to save up for it, even with the tax refund, but we hope to go in a year or two.

Would you like to know what we want to do?

Go to Israel. Perhaps, and the is the bonus dream, start with a cruise to the ports where the Apostle Paul went and end up at the Egyptian pyramids. The cruise will take a special money tree to grow in our backyard:)

It's not etched in stone, of course. Something might come up that will require the funds. Of course the needs of the family will come first. And I'm okay with that. Still, it's fun to dream.

Do you have a special plan or dream for your tax refund?

This was my first year of getting help with my taxes, too. (Unless I count my dad helping me my first couple years!) But yeah, first year actually going to a CPA. I'm getting a nice refund--nothing huge but enough that I won't feel bad taking a couple trips this summer to see friends in far-off places. :)

We've got some fun plans for our tax return, although it won't top what we did with last year's return: We used that to pay off our house!! :) Quite the celebration that day!!

We usually use the tax refund to stay with IRS and apply to the current year quarterly taxes. So we do not usually have any special plans for the refund other than that or else the money would go into checking to pay our bills.

The trip you dream of, Mary, sounds like a wonderful goal. The legal group, Liberty Council, has a program of goodwill ambassadors to Israel, and they have a wonderful sounding trip that you might be interested in at least for part of your trip.

I should have reread what I added before I hit send. It should be "we usually let the tax refund stay with IRS." We do not "stay with IRS" like it is a hotel or something! :-)

Oh, yeah, Melissa! Can't wait to hear about your trips. Far-off places? Extra exciting. Sounds like you'll be buying a new chip for your digital camera.

You paid off your house!! Congratulations. What a great project now labeled complete. So happy for you. Did you have a mortgage burning party? God certainly blesses, eh?
