Party Time-Celebrating One Year

One wonderful year of talking with you.

Reading your comments is one of my favorite times of the day.

God has blessed.

During this year my website had an upgrade in appearance and the Fabulous Friday Feature added.

The Fabulous Fridays are not limited to authors. As you have seen, the theme is: sharing how God has led on a journey. We've read some fantastic adventures, haven't we? If you've missed any, or would like to reread one, click on the tab at the top "Fabulous Past Guest's Testimonies." The list is in alphabetical order by last name.

On Monday and Wednesdays I post other discussion starters. Topics have included: what we learn in church, what we see in nature, current events, book and movie reviews, anything that can start a discussion with you.

And now, sit back and enjoy our chat. Here, have some virtual sweet tea or freshly brewed coffee.

We also have tasty virtual chocolate, scones, and pastries, all calorie free.

To complete the celebration, I must offer a book giveaway. I have several books sitting on my shelf, waiting to give one to one of you. (sorry US residents only)

To be entered the Let's Talk One Year Anniversary Book Giveaway (Christian fiction)

1. Become a follower if you aren't already, (click the blue "Follow this blog" button in the right column and follow the instructions.)

2. Leave a comment.

The winner will be announced Wednesday on my  Facebook Page. I will then give the winner a list of five books to choose their one winning book from. And, if possible, I will contact the author, to see if a book plate can be sent to the winner as well.

So friends, let's talk. Here are some ideas:

How has your summer been?
How has God blessed you this week?
What goal do you have for this new month?
Where would you love to go on vacation?

  2. So excited for your one year! My summer so far has been great! I only work two days this week, which is really awesome! :) God has blessed me everyday no matter what is going on in my life! My goal is to relocate in the next 2 months, and of course, do more reading! I enjoy your blog, so continue on full steam ahead!!! :D

Relocating can be stimulating, but a lot of work. I hope this is a good move for you and that you will meet many wonderful new friends.

Enjoy the books you manage to squeeze in during your free time.

Did you try one of the virtual pastries? Be sure to grab one, they're delicious.

  3. Happy Anniversary to Mary's blog that went from purple to pink! It has been fun reading your writing as often as I have a chance.

God blessed me last night to listen to testimonies from a mission trip some in my church went on. God continues His awesome work here on earth with current day "loaves and fishes" type situations. He expands provisions to meet the needs for believers who serve as the heart, hands and feet of Jesus. He is doing wonderful things every day all over this earth. Media never reports this kind of news, but people coming back from mission trips have the good news that counters all the bad news in the world.

Thank you for what you are doing here, Mary. Your words and work are another blessing in my life.

    Have a great week!
    Janice

    1. Those wonderful mission trips that propel individuals into deeper relationships with Christ mean so much. I've been to Honduras twice, Mexico twice, and the Crow reservation in Montana. I can't begin to express the benefits of mission trips. Listening to your service last night must have really stirred your heart.

So glad you stopped by and celebrated with me, Janice.

  5. Congratulations on your blogging anniversary, Mary. Comments are fun on blog posts. And thinking up something fun to write about week after week can be challenging. A challenge you have obviously met. I blog a couple of times a week on One Writer's Journal and once a week on a fun blog I've just started where I'm letting one of my fictional characters take control of the keyboard. The Hollyhill Book of the Strange. And sometimes I wonder if I'm going to find enough words for all that posting. Loved the clean and attractive look of your blog. I'll message you about making a visit perhaps in August.

    1. Thank you, Ann.

As with my other friends and visitors who stop by here, I am honored you chose to stop by. Your blogs sound fun as well, and I can't wait to host your new release to let others see your writing ministry. The character driven blog sounds fun!

Some days it seems an idea won't come for a post and then POOF, 500 ideas burst, fighting to be the one chosen!!

Looking forward to seeing you again.

  6. I've had a nice summer so far. A long weekend at the beach in June was great. No other travel plans until September, hope it doesn't drag to much.

    1. Sounds like you need some fun at home diversions. I once did a post about taking a trip to any where in the world without leaving your home. Here is the link if you want it: http://mimaryvee.blogspot.com/2010/07/summer-tip-7-make-vacation-to-foreign.html

So nice to see you today!

  7. Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!!! I've enjoyed your fantastic blog! If I could go on vacation, I would love to go to Pennsylvania and Amish country. The Amish fascinates me and I have a great respect for how they live. Thank you for entering me in your giveaway.

    1. Barbara,
My parents lived in PA near the Amish for a time. While there my parents never bought cheese in the store. Instead they drove farther to the Amish food stand and bought it there. One time when i visited my parents, they took me to the Amish store. It was in a barn! So awesome.

Loved chatting with you today, Barb.

  8. Happy Anniversary - I have a son home looking for job after completing college, a daughter coming home after her college research project is finished, a son working in Richmond, VA. This past month has been moving a 9-year-old blog from Xanga to Word Press. I have been doing mild edits, correcting some spelling errors, making the links work, and reading all the posts. It has been a blessing for most of the posts are notes from Bible studies i attend. I am awed by the amount of information my pastor has shared with us, as well as visiting pastors, and fellow church members. It has rekindled a lot of memories and shown me how much I've grown and changed. I still have many weeks of doing this, and have been inspired to keep on blogging. I'm also trying to edit my memoir. So I'm being kept busy. Hoping your summer is blessed.

    1. Wow, this is fantastic. It's difficult to express the feeling after hearing a pastor present information that feeds the soul. Words like awe-inspiring, heart-wrenching, rejuvenating, and etc only touch the tip. It's a great idea to blog about these truths. Your readers can only benefit from such writings.

How nice that your kids are coming come. I too have two kids who came home and both looking for summer jobs. There aren't many in my area.

      Blessings on your summer.

  10. My summer has been rough as I was sick 2 1/2 months and didn't know why. Then a bullseye broke out on my back and I have two types of tick disease. Doing better and glad I got antibiotic before going to Ohio to see my grandsons. Also took other three grandkids and youngest daughter and spouse. 7 people in a 7 passenger van with luggage and stuff - rough. Youngest is 20 months. Also blew a tire and ruined a rim on way due to construction area. Cost us $ 225.
Now trying to rid our yard of raccoons who are stealing our pet food. My dog died. So hope Fall is better.

    1. You are having a wild summer. Wow. If you figure out how to get rid of the raccoons, let me know. We have the same problem. The rascals come up to our door and peek in, as if to say, "What's for dinner?"

Hoping the rest of your summer is MUCH better.
